If you have deployed a Citrix XenApp Farm and the „Citrix XenApp Commands“ service does not want to start this issue may occur because the server itself is not allowed to access the internet.

The service tries to download the certification revocation list from Microsoft and if it does not succeed in a timely manner it will not start.

You can avoid this issue by simply placing a file with the name „Citrix.XenApp.Commands.Remoting.Service.exe.config“ in the folder C:\Program Files\Citrix\XenApp Commands or the corresponding one in your installation with the following content:

<?xml version=”1.0” encoding=”utf-8”?>
<configuration>
<runtime>
<generatePublisherEvidence enabled=”false” />
</runtime>
</configuration>

Start the service and you are done!

If the service does not run it is for example not possible to enumerate WorkerGroups within Citrix Group Policy filtering etc.

One Response to Citrix XenApp Commands service does not start

  1. Excellent post! I, as well commenced workboxes the past 7 days of school a year ago simply because I simply couldn’t hold out. My partner and i published these days on my blog in relation to these people, too! Such a fantastic plan, plus it looks like it works with regard to several styles of home school parents!
